Armed Garda units have taken part in a series of raids across Letterkenny today.Members of the Garda Regional Response Unit took part in the raids this morning.The raids took place at two locations at least including an apartment block at Lower Main Street and at a house at Long Lane. It is understood that a number of people were interviewed in relation to criminal activity as a result of the raids.The raids were part of a planned Garda operation.It is unsure if any arrests were made.Gardai are remaining tight-lipped about the raids. Kids naturally thrive on activity outdoors, but the lure of electronic devices has short-circuited their natural curiosity about reality. Physical fitness is not just about the body; it affects the brain and emotions, too, and benefits social development. Dr. Hayley Christian of the University of Western Australia is concerned that so many children don’t measure up to national fitness guidelines. The solution? “It is about having fun – moving and playing every day.”Exercise could outsmart genetics when it comes to heart disease (Medical Xpress). Blaming genes for your low fitness? This article from the American Heart Association says that genes don’t determine destiny. “Exercise, especially cardio fitness, could outweigh genetics when it comes to heart disease, according to new research” at Stanford. Research at the College of William and Mary shows that nerves, when pushed too hard, stop pushing muscles, so as to protect themselves—even though the muscles remain capable of more exertion.The researchers found that young tired muscle produces the same amount of force as old tired muscle after continual stimulation or exercise.“That whole aging thing disappears when the muscle gets tired. It’s no longer a factor,” Deschenes said. “After looking at all of this evidence, we find that when a young muscle gets tired it’s no better than old muscle. It’s the same. Pearcey challenges the transgender and homosexual communities (and their counselors) with Biblical principles that work better than shaming. She says that they don’t love their bodies enough! They don’t understand the gift that God has given them in their bodies and sex roles. In the process, she helps all readers gain a higher, Biblical view of the body, and encourages us all to realize why we obeying God’s principles is the best option for our health and happiness.No matter where you are in age or ability, there is something you can do to get stronger. Don’t measure yourself by others; just try to get beyond where you are now. If nothing else, stretch while sitting at the computer, or breathe deeply three times in a row, several times a day. And if you can do more, by all means, do it. It’s like an investment that yields interest in happiness. And while you do it, give thanks to the Creator of all these things you have. Paul admonished: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. 18 October 2005A partnership between the government and Business Unity South Africa to address the challenge of climate change was formed at the National Climate Change Conference in Midrand, Johannesburg on Monday.The newly formed partnership is expected to create a system for monitoring and reporting on the levels of greenhouse gas emissions in South Africa.“At the World Summit on Sustainable Development, South Africa led the way in highlighting the ‘triple bottom line’ of business – economic, social, and environmental concerns,” said Business Unity SA (Busa) President Patrice Motsepe.“This agreement gives further content to that approach. In addition, the project will increase the use of soil testing to achieve improved nutrient management.New research conducted by government, academia and the private sector indicates that nutrient runoff can be meaningfully reduced when farmers have accurate data on crop nutrient needs and then follow a detailed plan that simultaneously maximizes efficient production and minimizes nutrient loss.A series of workshops will provide farmers with individualized Nutrient Management Plans. Ahead of the workshops, farmers will be advised on obtaining soil tests from which the Nutrient Management Plan will be written. The plans will be completed using a program developed by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.The partnering groups are Ohio AgriBusiness Association, Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, Ohio’s Certified Crop Advisors, Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association, Ohio Dairy Producers Association, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Ohio Pork Council, Ohio Poultry Association, Ohio Sheep Improvement Association, Ohio Soybean Association and Ohio State University Extension.This project is an outcome of farmers and their organizations investing millions of dollars in research that identifies farming practices that can contribute to improved water quality. This is one of many payoffs from that research.Experts concur that no single change to farming practices can eliminate nutrient runoff, nor are there any quick fixes. It is anticipated the workshops will begin this summer. Details will soon be finalized on all funding sources and the process to measure results.

Viacom had unexpectedly massive global success with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. They are now looking Mary Kom as the female counterpart of Milka Singh’s bio-pic. The global appeal of Mary Kom is much more contemporary than Milkha. While Milkha Singh’s biopic was retrospective in structure, Mary Kom is being made even as the real-life Mary Kom prepares for the next Olympics,” an online portal quoted its source.The project is now being formatted into two different versions, one for the Indian and the other for the international market.There is a lot more being added to the film now. Director Omang Kumar has asked Priyanka to spend a lot more time with the real Mary Kom.We hope the wait is worth it!
