Gov’t Mule Debuts New Song, “Bed Of Lies”, In Houston

first_imgGov’t Mule played a rocking show last night at Houston, TX’s White Oak Music Hall, wrapping up a series of three Texas shows this week. The two-set show featured a first frame comprised entirely of original material, with Warren Haynes sprinkling in teases of John Scofield’s “Hottentot”, a tune off  A Go Go, his 1997 collaborative release with Medeski, Martin & Wood. Gov’t Mule’s second set and encore saw the band weave in a number of covers, including a “St. Stephen Jam”, and a cover of The Beatles’ “She Said, She Said”.The highlight of the show’s second half came when the band moved through “Bed Of Lies”, played for the first time live. “Bed Of Lies” is one of two previously unreleased tracks from the Revolution Come… Revolution Go sessions, a special release Gov’t Mule put together for Record Store Day this past spring. You can watch a crowd-shot video of “Soulshine”, from Gov’t Mule’s performance at White Oak Music Hall below:Gov’t Mule – “Soulshine” – 9/21/2018[Video: William Castleman]For a full list of Gov’t Mule’s upcoming performances and ticketing information, head to the band’s website here.Setlist: Gov’t Mule | White Oak Music Hall | Houston, TX | 9/21/2018Set One: Slackjaw Jezebel, Thorazine Shuffle, Million Miles From Yesterday, Child Of The Earth, Birth Of The Mule, Funny Little Tragedy with Message In A Bottle lyrics, Pressure Under Fire, Time To ConfessSet Two: Inside Outside Woman Blues, Burning Point, Sarah Surrender, Trane > Eternity’s Breath > St. Stephen Jam, Bed Of Lies, She Said, She Said > Tomorrow Never Knows, SoulshineEncore: Come On Into My Kitchen > Gonna Send You Back To Georgia[H/T Jambase]last_img
