The Pannonian Challenge will collect points for the Tokyo Olympics!

first_img“By joining the UCI Federation, we had the opportunity to take the whole event to the next level. As many probably already know, next year in Tokyo, for the first time, BMX and skate riders will compete and we are proud that the Pannonian Challenge will become a part of sports history. Every year in Osijek we gather an excellent team, and this June we expect the arrival of the world’s best drivers and numerous national teams. For now, we have already announced the arrival of national teams from the UK, Russia and Hungary, and the number of applicants is growing, which is guaranteed by the biggest Pannonian Challenge so far.”Said Jurica Barać, Pannonian Challenge project manager. The jubilee 20th anniversary of the Pannonian Challenge will be remembered by one of the greatest awards in two decades of existence – membership in the UCI Federation, which brings a number of new opportunities for all competitors. The Pannonian Challenge has become an international C1 category competition, in which participants of the BMX freestyle discipline will be able to collect points for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.  The Pannonian Challenge will be held again this year in the skate park near the popular Osijek beach Copacabana, where competitions in the disciplines of skateboarding, BMX and inline will be held from June 5 to 9, and the demonstration discipline will be scooter riding.  And how the whole story of the Pannonian Challenge came about, see the attachment. There is also a music part of the festival in a combination of rock and electro sound, where the best names of the regional urban music scene will perform. This is a big step for the festival that a group of enthusiasts launched on Osijek’s High School Playground, in the meantime to grow into a globally known gathering of extreme sports and urban culture. The biggest extreme sports and music event in Croatia and Southeast Europe is included in the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) calendar, and in the new category of competition BMX riders will collect points for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Phenomenal news and huge success of several enthusiasts who have been working on this great festival since the first day, and which has become the motive for coming to Osijek. last_img
